I’m sure from time to time you’ve passed a car with some. They seem like they’re everywhere. Family Car Stickers. You know the little stick figure decals that represent your family. A mommy and daddy, stick parents usually followed up by stick kids. Sometimes seen with pets as well. Ah. the American Dream. Husband, wife, 2.5 kids and a dog right?

I’m not a parent yet (will be quite a while too). But I’m a big fan of them the decals. I think they’re pretty cute. I could go ahead and just stick my wife and myself on our car. But I think we’re going to wait, till we at least have pets. Don’t want our stick couple looking lonely on the back of our Malibu. Although, I’m sure we could count the doggies at Heather’s parents. Sweet Pups!

I’ve even seen some interesting combination of the figures. Sometimes they’ll stick-on grandma and grandpa. I’ve even seen step-parents (one of the parents crossed out and replaced). Some families would take up a whole rear glass I’m sure (especially southern redneck families, hey I’m from the south). Have you seen any interesting family car stick families? If so, comment up! No luck yet. On finding the step parent one. I may have to post a photoshop’d version of what I saw. However I did find a decal for people who don’t like family car stickers! The caption reads “No one cares about your stick figure family!” You can find these as well below.

Since I’ve been unsuccessful in finding the a photo of the step-parent family car sticker. I decided to recreate it! So here ya go!

Back when I lived in Lexington Kentucky, I had digital cable. With digital cable, I had access to thousands of video clips through Starz On Demand. It was pretty neat. They had a ton of movies and content for no extra charge. I remember a series of clips available through the service called “30 Second Bunnies.” 30 Second Bunnies is an animated series of shorts featuring bunnies (duh). Most of the shows were 30 second parodies of popular movies. While surfing around today, I found a clip where they re-enacted one of my Christmas favorites “A Christmas Story.” You know the one: “You’ll shoot your eye out!”

Today, I thought I would share with you something on my desk at work. While everyone else in my office, has pictures and coffee mugs. I have toys. No secret. If you’ve read my blog, you know I’m a big kid at heart. One toy I keep on my desk is a Cube World Cube set. I received them as a Christmas gift a few years ago. They’re little electronic cubes with small LCD screens. When activated the screen comes to life with little fictional stick-figure characters.

Each cube has a different personality. Apart the cubes have lives of their own. But when put together they interact with each other. If more than two cubes are put together a full block party will occur. There are over 100 animations per cube. The cubes are joined together by magnets. I’ve had my set for a few years and haven’t replaced the batteries.

The two cubes, I have are Sparky (the fireman) and Toner (the office guy). Ever so often I’ll reach over and press the button on Toner. He’ll wake up and photo-copy his little stick figure butt. Then I’ll wake up Sparky, who sometimes passes gas. Then the pair will see each other and start their little game. Sometimes they play baseball. Sometimes they just wave at each other. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the one open up a door and join the other.

They do make for a interesting conversation piece. Most people who have seen them, have ask what they are. The last office I was in, people would ask “What’s Toner and Sparky up too?” I would just reply with “Why don’t ya see for yourself.” I don’t play with them often. But I would like to get more, just to see what all they do together. I think they make a great office gift.

Dot. Dot. Bloop. Bloop. Ah the sounds of 80’s arcade machines! Since last year these sounds could be heard coming from our Christmas tree. My wife has been collecting ornaments from Hallmark since she was little. She got me into collecting as well. When I saw the Pac-Man machine last year, I had to have it. Of course this year I had to have to the Galaga one as well! Each one features the marquee, artwork and color scheme of the real machines. When the 1 player button is pressed, they play an array of sounds from the games. We also collect other ornaments as well. She likes the snowman series and I’m working on the Beagle Scouts series. I’m hoping Hallmark will also consider making the arcade machines a series as well. Just a reminder to fellow ornament collectors that the Lighthouse Greetings Series is ending it’s 13 year run this year. Happy Holidays!

Are you an 70’s or 80’s kid? Well even if you’re not. I’m sure you’ve encountered a Lite Brite. Very simple toy that allowed you to express yourself. Basically just a peg-board with a light behind it. You place color pegs in the holes to form pictures or messages. I can remember playing with our Lite Brite.

Want to virtually relive that experience? Well now you can with the Virtual Lite Brite! Hasbro has a flash game that emulates a Lite Brite. You can find it on their site by digging around. As you may know. Back to the Future is one of my all time favorite movie trilogies. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched each of the movies. But Heather can tell you how much I’ve bored her with them (lol). But anyways. I found this neat animation done by a someone on YouTube. Their profile name is Hansen85. 24 years old from Norway and I think they have awesome talent. Similar works based on other shows and movies are also on their profile. Check it out below!

I was surfing the net to find out more information about mysterygoogle.com and I stumbled onto this interesting blog post. The website was bagofnothing.com Found some pretty interesting stuff. But this one post caught my eye. The post was a flowchart of how to determine where you should eat while out on the road. The chart was put together by another blog called eatingtheroad.wordpress.com. Check it  out below. You’ll find it funny and informative. You might even ask yourself “Is this not true?”

Instructables.com – Make Rheopectic Slime

Found another interesting slime making article on the instructables.com website. This stuff looks more like the slime they used on Nickelodeon shows. Rheopectic means the solution is slow gelling. Using broax, Mucilage (glue) and distilled water you too can make your own rheopectic gooey slime. With some slight modification you can make the slime look transparent as the slime above.
