This past weekend, Heather and I visited my family in Elkhorn City. Shout out to my brother Dee! Happy Birthday. While at home, we had fun looking through old family pictures and home movies. Heather now has enough blackmail on me, to last a lifetime. We also came across some videos of Richard Petty. My family and I were huge #43 fans, years ago back in the good old days of NASCAR.
As you may know, Richard Petty won 7 Championships, 7 Dayton 500s and over 200 races. Richard is regarded as the King of stock car racing. My family and I had the pleasure of spending some time with Richard at his race shop. My Dad commissioned Richard as a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Col. Richard Petty was happy to receive his honors. Richard retired not long before that day.
When looking through the videos. We found a copy of the retirement tribute made to Richard. Country music band, Alabama had put together a special video/song to honor Richard’s career.
